I had a colleague once who refused to use any work management tool. She had tried a few and never found one that worked the way her brain did. What she did use, religiously, was sticky notes. Her desk was covered in them, color-coded, arranged in clusters, some overlapping, some standing alone. She had a system that only she fully understood, and it worked perfectly for her.
When I started building Gript, I kept thinking about her desk. Not about making something she would use instead of sticky notes, she had her system and it was fine. But about why physical sticky notes worked so well for her when software never did. They were instant, personal, always in front of her, and completely outside the formal structure of tasks and projects. Nobody else had to process them. They were just hers.
I also know she is far from alone. Plenty of people still work with physical sticky notes every day, and for good reason. That is where Gript sticky notes started. A digital version of exactly that.
Only you see them
Sticky notes are private. A teammate opening the exact same board sees nothing, there is no shared layer, no way to make a note visible to anyone else. They are yours alone.
Colors, fonts, and size
Eight colors to choose from: yellow, pink, blue, green, orange, purple, white, and cyan. Five font options: the default system font, or one of four handwritten styles, Caveat, Patrick Hand, Kalam, and Indie Flower. Font size is adjustable inside the note. Resize by dragging any of the eight edge handles: corners and sides. Minimize a note to a slim header bar if you want it present but out of the way.
Select multiple notes with Ctrl+Click and group them with Ctrl+G, grouped notes move together. Right-click a multi-selection for alignment tools: align edges, distribute spacing, resize to the same dimensions. Ungroup with Ctrl+Shift+G.
Reminders
Each note can carry a reminder set to a specific time. When the time approaches, a countdown badge appears on the note itself, updating every 30 seconds, then every 10 seconds inside ten minutes, then every second inside two minutes. When it fires, the note shakes and an overlay appears with a stop button.
Three notification channels, each toggled independently: an in-app bell notification, an email, and an option to auto-create a new alarm sticky note in the corner of your screen. If you are not in the app when the reminder fires, the email reaches you. If you are, the bell fires in real time via socket.
Alt+S shows and hides all your notes. Alt+N creates a new one. Double-click any note to edit it. That is the whole interaction model.
